Running from late May into early June, the inaugural WestK Cabaret Festival takes over the Xiqu Centre with a lively celebration of cabaret, bringing together music, dance, comedy, and storytelling from across the world. Visitors can catch the final stretch of the festival this month, with a programme spanning intimate live performances, interactive theatre, stage productions, and late-night dancefloor sessions. Featuring artists from Broadway, Paris, and London’s West End alongside performers from Hong Kong and across the Asia Pacific, the festival brings a fresh burst of energy to West Kowloon, offering one last chance to experience cabaret in all its bold and immersive forms.

Hong Kong Ballet, The Sleeping Beauty, until 7 June

This June, Hong Kong Ballet in collaboration with China Minsheng Bank Hong Kong Branch presents The Sleeping Beauty. Choreographed by internationally renowned ballet dancer Vladimir Malakhov, this new production brings Tchaikovsky’s timeless fairytale to life with elegant choreography, elaborate costumes, and a live performance by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Joined by a cast of acclaimed international guest artists, this enchanting classic promises an unforgettable evening of beauty, romance, and theatrical spectacle, with all the grandeur and dreamlike magic that make it one of ballet’s most iconic productions.

Got Balls Hong Kong, 6th June

On 6 June 2026, Got Balls Hong Kong brings the mischief back with Summer of 69, a wildly immersive party night taking over Hong Kong Football Club with live performances, outrageous games, free-flow bevs, and plenty of audience participation. Guests are encouraged to lean all the way into the theme with their boldest fancy dress and a healthy sense of humour, as the night unfolds through iconic sing-alongs, playful prizes, and costume contests. Yes, it is Bingo - but don't be fooled, it's chaos in the best possible way. This event is a popular one, so if you're looking to get tickets, we suggest doing so ASAP!

Dragon Boat Festival, 19 June - 1 July

Hong Kong’s Dragon Boat Festival brings the city’s waterfront to life with one of its most exciting and iconic cultural traditions. Taking place across Victoria Harbour and one of the key racing locations being Tsim Sha Tsui, teams from around the world compete in fast-paced races set against the skyline. Beyond the competition, the festival atmosphere extends along the harbourfront with food stalls, live entertainment, and a sense of community. Crowds gather from far and wide to celebrate this tradition, as it is one of the most vibrant moments in the Hong Kong calendar, combining sport, culture, and summer energy in one unforgettable weekend.

Candlelight Concert, 19 - 28 June

This June, Hong Kong’s Candlelight Concert series returns with a glowing line-up of intimate live music experiences set within some of the city’s most atmospheric venues, including PMQ and The Repulse Bay Arcade. From cinematic performances of the best of Hans Zimmer to classical masterpieces like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, alongside contemporary tributes to artists including Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, and Coldplay, each performance is reimagined by a live string ensemble surrounded by hundreds of flickering candles. Known for their immersive ambience and beautifully intimate setting, Candlelight concerts have become one of the city’s most sought-after live music experiences, with performances regularly selling out well in advance, making early booking essential for anyone hoping to secure a seat.

M+, Design, Ah!, from 27 June


Design Ah! Experience the Wonder of Everyday Design

At M+, June 2026 features a mix of major contemporary art and design exhibitions across the museum’s West Kowloon spaces. A key highlight is Design Ah! Experience the Wonder of Everyday Design, led by Taku Satoh as general director, alongside video director Yugo Nakamura and music director Shuta Hasunuma. Opening on 27 June 2026, this exhibition explores how everyday design shapes behaviour, communication, and daily life through playful, interactive installations. Alongside this, M+ continues its run of major international exhibitions, including Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now and Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time, both offering immersive experiences spanning contemporary art, sound, and performance. The museum’s facade also becomes part of the experience, with media works activating the building each evening along the harbourfront, making M+ a key cultural destination throughout the month.

The Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival continues across June 2026 with a citywide programme blending film, performance, installation, and art, before officially closing at the end of the month. Key highlights include Pop Unboxed, a waterfront installation running until 30 June, that transforms the Cultural Centre Piazza and surrounding harbourfront into an immersive pop-inspired visual experience. The festival’s cinematic strand, Fantasies in Reality: A Cinematic Journey, runs until 7 June, offering curated screenings that explore Hong Kong’s relationship with film and imagination. Alongside this, Live. Time. Place. and the accompanying media art installation Time. Place. Show. continue through 23 June, presenting an experimental fusion of live performance, sound, and digital visuals.


While the main festival wraps in June, two programmes continue beyond the official closing date: Blissful Reading Moment runs through 10 July, while Hong Kong Film Archive Stories: Treasure Hunting for 25 Years, opening from 3 June, continues into next year. Together, these programmes create a layered cultural experience that unfolds throughout the month and extends Hong Kong’s celebration of pop culture well into summer.
