Hong Kong's evolving art scene welcomes the return of Beyond Boundaries this June, as the contemporary art exhibition unveils its second edition with more than 90 curated works by eight celebrated Indian artists. Presented by 079 | STORIES in partnership with Beyond Boundaries Co-Founder Sonal Nayyar, Beyond Boundaries 2.0 arrives at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre from 18 to 21 June, inviting visitors into a world where art moves freely across borders, cultures, and traditions.

“We’re excited to present the return of Beyond Boundaries, which continues to explore the infinite world of modern and contemporary art, reaching beyond borders, whether geographical or cultural.” said Sonal Nayyar, Co-Founder of Beyond Boundaries. “Art is woven into the cultural fabric of Hong Kong, which sits at a unique international crossroad. The city has grown to become one of the world’s most influential art scenes, leading global events that gather some of the most influential artists and collectors from around the world.”

The heart of this year's exhibition is the idea of "living beyond boundaries", a philosophy that celebrates creativity without limits. Through paintings and mixed-media works, the exhibition explores themes of identity, heritage, and transformation, drawing inspiration from the colours and textures of cities buzzing with life, folk traditions, and personal reflections on individuality. Together, the eight featured artists offer a window into the dynamic landscape of contemporary Indian art, creating a vibrant dialogue between India and Hong Kong, two cities shaped by cultural exchange and a shared appreciation for creativity.

Among the highlights are the striking works of Vipul Prajapati, whose art explores the world of industrial labour through his fascination with ships, dockyards, and the people who work within them. Meanwhile, Brinda Miller brings the rhythm of urban life to the canvas through expressive abstract pieces rich in colour and emotion, reflecting the boundless energy of India's cities. Few places are better suited to an exhibition like Beyond Boundaries than Hong Kong, a city whose creative spirit is shaped by diverse perspectives and a deep appreciation for the arts. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet award-winning artists Vipul Prajapati and Pulkit Prajapati during the preview and opening day, offering a rare glimpse into the inspirations and stories behind their works.

More than just an exhibition, Beyond Boundaries 2.0 is a celebration of connection, where culture, ideas, and artistic voices come together in a dialogue that encourages thought and expression.
