Raise a glass with us as Hong Kong has officially climbed to the top of the global cocktail ladder. For the first time in the 17-year history of the World’s 50 Best Bars, an Asian bar has claimed the crown, and that bar is none other than Bar Leone.

Opened only two years ago, Bar Leone embodies the charm of a Roman neighbourhood bar: simple Italian-accented

cocktails and an easygoing, welcoming vibe. Roman-born bartender Lorenzo Antinori, known for his time at Argo, Dandelyan, and The American Bar, leads the bar with a philosophy that’s winning hearts worldwide: simplicity, community, and joy still matter most.

After debuting at No. 2 in 2024, Bar Leone now sits at the very top, making history as Asia’s first-ever world No. 1. Antinori stepped onto the stage, expressing that the achievement was “a dream come true.” Praise pouring in from around the world affirms that the recognition is very much deserved. If you’re an avid cocktail lover or simply looking for the perfect place to enjoy with friends, try the officially recognised World's Best Bar.

This landmark win goes hand-in-hand with Hong Kong's COA making the Top 50 at No. 38. Opened in 2017 by award-winning bartender Jay Khan, COA is a Mexican-inspired bar celebrating the flavours of tequila and mezcal, with a weekly-changing cocktail menu crafted from seasonal ingredients. The 40-seater bar has earned a loyal following thanks to its innovative drinks, deep agave selection, and playful nods to Oaxaca’s streets.

As well as this, the gummy bear welcome and smiles from behind the bar never disappoint.
