Hong Kong’s wine enthusiasts are invited to savour the depth and soul of Spain’s Ribera del Duero (RDD) wines, a region celebrated for producing some of the world’s most expressive reds. From now until 31 December, two of the city’s favourable wine and dine destinations, Mato Coffee Wine in Sheung Wan and La Paloma in Sai Ying Pun, will host premium bottles that highlight the region’s distinctive sense of place.

Crafted mainly from the Tempranillo grape, Ribera del Duero wines are famed for their elegance and depth, from bold Gran Reservas to vibrant young reds, and even crisp whites made from the native Albillo Mayor grape. Their signature and unmistakable power and balance are the result of extreme climate, high altitude and centuries of winemaking mastery across the rugged plateaus of Castilla y León.

Enrique Pascual, President of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin Regulatory Council, calls the showcase “a reflection of our soils, altitude and passionate craftsmanship.” Featuring vintages from 2015 to 2023, the lineup celebrates both the tradition and diversity that define this acclaimed Denomination of Origin, voted the world’s best wine-producing region by Wine Enthusiast magazine in 2012.

Ideal for gifting or for taking centre stage at your festive table, Ribera del Duero wines embody the artistry and heritage of Spain’s vineyards. Available at Mato Coffee Wine, La Paloma, and select retailers, including Watson’s Wine and Enoteca.

Saucy Says: "To gift, to sip or to share? Ribera del Duero wines make festive moments effortless. With Mato Coffee Wine and La Paloma serving up the perfect pours and plates, celebrating the season has never been this easy or delicious."
