A familiar address on Singapore's Orchard Road is about to get a new identity. The Hari will transform the current Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre into a 326-room luxury hotel, marking the brand's third global location after London and Hong Kong. Once complete, the property will feature a rooftop pool, an executive lounge, several dining concepts, and wellness spaces, along with the brand's signature art collection.

Taking over the current Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre, the space will be transformed into a 326-room luxury hotel once the changeover is complete. The reimagined property will feature a rooftop pool, an executive lounge, several dining concepts, and wellness spaces. It will also carry the brand's signature rotating art collection, with pieces changing regularly, so returning guests see something new each time.
Design duties belong to British designer Tara Bernerd, the creative force behind both The Hari London and The Hari Hong Kong. With an approach that leans towards contrast; Bernerd brings clean, contemporary lines paired with interiors that feel unmistakably tied to their location. For Singapore, that means taking inspiration from the city's own layered identity of colonial bones and tropical modernism. Expect the design language The Hari has become known for: spaces that feel considered and calm at first, then revealing a few unexpected, playful details the longer you look.

Dr. Aron Harilela, the brand's founder, framed the opening as part of a broader ambition to plant The Hari flag in major international cities, describing the new hotel as an extension of the same DNA found in its Belgravia and Wan Chai locations, one built on culture, wit, and hospitality that feels personal rather than performative. Also strategic, Singapore remains one of Asia's most competitive luxury hospitality markets, but it's also one where a hotel with genuine character will stand out. The hotel is looking to appeal to Singapore's travellers, both local and international, who are hungry for something with more soul than the usual glass-and-marble formula.
Located at 11 Cavenagh Road, in the heart of the Orchard Road district, The Hari Singapore will situate guests within easy reach of the city's retail spine while offering its own reasons to stay: a rooftop pool, wellness offerings, and a dining scene the brand hasn't fully revealed yet, but has a solid record of getting right. Spring 2027 is still some time away, but for anyone planning a trip to Singapore in the near future, this is definitely a hotel to keep in mind.

Although a boutique hotel group, The Hari Hotels are part of a much larger operation. It's part of Harilela Hotels, under the Harilela Group, a family business founded in 1959 and still fully owned by the Harilelas. The wider portfolio includes 15 properties across Hong Kong, mainland China, the rest of Asia, Europe, and the US, allowing The Hari to expand thoughtfully. The timeline reflects this approach, with London opening in 2016, Hong Kong following in 2020, and Singapore being the brand's third hotel around seven years later. The Hari seems more focused on taking the time to get each city correct, rather than diversifying as quickly as possible, and this shows in their success.
