Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 is coming up, and if you want something different from the usual mooncake box, Hong Kong's got no shortage of options this year. From truffle-laced caviar mooncakes to the cutest camper van, here are the most interesting Mid-Autumn gifts and mooncake boxes worth giving in 2026.
Mouton Cadet x Marjorie Colas

Mouton Cadet has collaborated with Marjorie Colas, the Paris paper artist who has worked with Dior and Chanel, on a Bordeaux Rouge for the Mid-Autumn Festival period, decorating the bottle with delicate botanical illustrations and fashioning the box to double as a paper lantern. It's not just a bottle of wine but also a piece of art, making it a lovely gift to bring to the table this Mid-Autumn Festival. You can even add an LED light (sold separately) inside to make it glow. The wine itself is a classic Bordeaux red, with notes and aromas of dark berries, a hint of saffron and rosemary, raspberry, and blueberry underneath, with smooth tannins. As a bonus, it goes particularly well with mixed-nut or red bean mooncakes.

Smoke & Barrel Sauce Gift Box

For something different but equally as thoughtful this Mid-Autumn Festival, Smoke & Barrel introduces a gift box of three of their house-made sauces, and you just know they're going to be so, so good. The Hong Kong Lemon Tea BBQ Sauce takes the city's most popular beverage and turns it into a glaze, the Soy BBQ Sauce is built upon Koon Chun soy sauce from Yuen Long, and the BBQ Chilli Crunch starts as a Chengdu-style chilli crunch before picking up smoked garlic, smoked onions, and a hit of Spanish sherry vinegar. We think this is a brilliant gift for Mid-Autumn Festival, or any occasion!

Ralph's Coffee Mooncake Set
Ralph's Coffee has turned this year's mooncake gift box into the most adorable, tiny vintage camper van, done up in their signature green and white, with a Polo Bear-ista figurine along for the ride. Lighting up from inside too, you get a soft glow that makes it feel much more like a keepsake than just packaging - and we would HAPPILY display this on our shelf. Inside are six mini mooncakes: three silky egg custard and three rich chocolate custard. If you gift this for the Mid-Autumn Festival, you'll make somebody incredibly happy.

Royal Caviar Club brings their indulgent charm to Mid-Autumn Festival this year, launching alongside their new pop-up at Upper House Hong Kong, they also introduce their Caviar Lava Mooncake. The four-piece box comes with two White Truffle & Dark Chocolate versions, pairing fresh caviar with white truffle gianduja and a dark chocolate brown butter cookie, and two Cheddar Cheese & White Chocolate cakes for a more savoury take. Sweet, salty, and deliciously umami all at once, with the caviar adding an oceanic hit to each bite. Not your average mooncake box by any stretch.
Early-bird pricing is HKD$398 until 13 September, rising to HKD$498 after that. Redemption runs until the end of September, with collection in Causeway Bay and Central throughout the month.
Nam Wan Bakery Mooncake Stars Edition

Nam Wan Bakery is a newer name on Peng Chau, opened by César Augustyniak. They've teamed up with ceramic artist Fung Taitau on a Mid-Autumn box that doesn't look like anything else out there this season. Inside are 9 mini gâteau basques, a buttery almond crust filled with organic vanilla custard, so not a traditional mooncake, let's say more of a French pastry wearing a Mid-Autumn outfit, and we are down with that. We originally wanted to feature their Mid-Autumn Festival mystery box, but as we were writing, they completely sold out! Simply a testament to how much demand there already is for what they're doing, and how good their pastries really are.
Their Mooncake Stars Edition Box is available for HKD$280 a box, with the option to pick up at Central Pier 6 or at Nam Wan Bakery itself. Get them before they are gone!
Goods of Desire Bum Mooncake
G.O.D. has been making its Bum Mooncake since 2008, and it's popular enough that it has stuck around and become one of the brand's signatures, every Mid-Autumn. It really is what it sounds like: a lotus seed paste mooncake shaped like buttocks, playing on the classic comparison between the moon's roundness and a bum. If you've friends that have a great sense of humour, this is a great choice.
One mooncake is HKD$45, with a buy-three-get-one-free deal if you're stocking up. It's pre-order only this year, with collection running until 27 September, store pickup only.
Matchali x YYY House of Cakes Matcha Mooncake Gift Box

This Mid-Autumn, Matchali founders and cousins Laura and Cara have teamed up with their cousin Yvette of YYY House of Cakes on a family collaboration that is all things matcha. If you're not quite into the usual lotus paste and salted egg flavours, and have an appreciation for real matcha flavours and not just a green-tinted twist on tradition, this is the mooncake set for you. Each mooncake is handcrafted, with a flowing matcha lava centre wrapped in delicate matcha pastry. They're made fresh to order with no preservatives, and look as beautiful as they taste.

Conspiracy Chocolate Pistachio Praline Mooncakes

Conspiracy Chocolate welcomes Mid-Autumn Festival with a pistachio praline mooncake, a different pick if you're bored of the usual line up. Roasted pistachio meets a bright raspberry pate de fruit core, all wrapped in their 64% single origin dark chocolate. The raspberry cuts through the richness of the pistachio rather than just adding more sweetness on top, so it's more balanced than indulgent, which makes it a super gift for people who don't go for the usual mooncakes. Conspiracy Chocolate suggest pairing it with a home-brewed cacao husk tea if you want to go all in for the flavours.
At HKD$508 per box, it's available for pickup or delivery at their Chocolate Lab in Wong Chuk Hang, or via their partner shop The Whisky Library in Pedder Building, Central, until 27 September.
Dough Beings' Mid-Autumn Full Collection

Dough Beings' Full Collection is two boxes in one! Pairing French technique with local flavours, The Pastry Collection has a preserved sweet plum financier and a lap cheong spring onion madeleine, two pieces each, sweet and savoury sitting side by side. The Moon Collection is the mooncake half, introducing a Black Sesame Custard Dark Chocolate Caramel mooncake, housemade custard with roasted black sesame, 85% dark chocolate salted caramel and a buttery cookie crust shaped like one of their signature viennoiserie knots, alongside an Ibérico Pork Black Truffle Shanghainese mooncake, made with prime Ibérico pork, black truffle, multi-layered Shanghainese puff pastry and shaved truffle on top. It's a seriously good excuse to treat yourself this Mid-Autumn, or to gift to someone who you think deserves it... lucky them!

Snap! Bakery Bliss Tin
Snap! Bakery is back with their tin box cookie sets after last year's version did so well. The Bliss Tin comes with 30 cookies across six flavours: an Ube Viennese made with purple yam, a coffee pecan biscotti that's one of their signature items, a Thai milk tea sablé Breton, a pistachio diamant sablé rolled in sparkling sugar, a chocolate sablé, and a strawberry snowball cookie. No preservatives or additives, though it does contain almond flour, and it'll keep for around three weeks unopened.
The first 30 customers get a limited-edition furoshiki cloth wrap (chosen at random). Available for HKD$285, sent out from 14 September.
